Air Chief Marshal AP Singh, Chief of the Air Staff (CAS), is on an official visit to Egypt at the invitation of AVM Amr Abdel Rahman Saqr, Commander of the Egyptian Air Force (EAF).
India and Egypt share long-standing relations and Military ties, but this particular visit is very important for Indian Airforce and our Future Warfare as Egyptian Airforce operates a wide range of 218x F-16s, giving them decades of operational, maintenance, and doctrinal experience with Fighting Falcons.
Although, EAF F-16s lack BVR Capabilities, means they’re NOT equipped with Aim-120 AMRAAMS but still, their experience is more than enough for IAF to understand the basic Flight Performance, Energy management, Manoeuvering characteristics and Radar-usage Philosophy of Falcons. Such knowledge about F-16s is invaluable when facing a potential adversary like Pakistan Air Force.
Now, Indian Airforce is looking Forward to spend more time in Aerial Exercises with Egyptian Airforce, as such engagements will allow India to study the F-16s and develop Counter-air tactics and Electronic warfare responses against Pakistan Air Force while operating platforms like Rafale, Su-30MKI and HAL Tejas etc.
