1 CHINA- AND INDIA-LINKED HACKERS TARGET PAKISTANI POLICE NETWORKS

Cybersecurity firm SentinelOne has reported that hacking groups linked to China and India targeted several Pakistani law-enforcement agencies between February 2024 and April 2026.

The campaigns reportedly sought intelligence related to Pakistan’s internal security, militant threats and regional tensions.

The Balochistan Police was identified as a major target, with hackers allegedly attacking network equipment, web servers and online applications, including its Complaint Management System.

Islamabad Police, Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Police and the Punjab Safe Cities Authority were also targeted.

2 SALMAN KHURSHID SLAMS MODI GOVERNMENT’S FOREIGN POLICY

Former External Affairs Minister Salman Khurshid has accused the Narendra Modi government of turning Indian diplomacy into a largely “transactional” exercise, arguing that India’s international influence has weakened during major global crises.

In an interview with ThePrint, the senior Congress leader questioned the government’s handling of relations with the United States and Pakistan.

He also criticised External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar, saying his diplomatic experience had not translated into effective political leadership.

Khurshid further said that despite the current breakdown in India-Pakistan relations, both countries would eventually have to return to dialogue and the negotiating table.

3 15 INDIAN TOURISTS KILLED IN VIETNAM BOAT ACCIDENT, JAISHANKAR EXPRESSES GRIEF

At least 15 Indian tourists have died after a speedboat carrying 32 Indian passengers and four crew members capsized near Hon May Rut Ngoai island in southern Vietnam.

The vessel overturned in rough sea conditions while travelling near Phu Quoc island. Rescue teams saved 21 people, while authorities continued confirming details of the victims.

External Affairs Minister S. Jaishankar expressed deep sorrow over the tragedy and offered condolences to the families of those who lost their lives.

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also mourned the deaths and prayed for the recovery of survivors. The Indian embassy has opened helplines to assist affected families.

4 SUPREME COURT HEARS PLEA SEEKING CBI PROBE INTO RAM TEMPLE DONATION FUNDS ROW

The Supreme Court has heard a petition seeking a multidisciplinary, CBI-led investigation into alleged irregularities concerning donations made to the Ram Temple trust.

Advocate Ajai Kumar Rai, appearing for the petitioner, said the matter was highly sensitive as it involved the faith of millions of devotees who had contributed funds to the trust.

He warned that leaving questions over the innocence or guilt of those under suspicion unresolved could cause irreparable damage to public trust and devotees’ faith.

The petitioner has urged the Supreme Court to order a comprehensive investigation and expressed hope for a favourable outcome.

5 INDIAN MUSLIM JUDGE FACES DEATH THREATS AFTER CONVICTION OF COW VIGILANTES

Additional District and Sessions Judge of Madhya Pradesh, Tabassum Khan, has become the target of online death threats and abuse after convicting 14 men to life imprisonment over a 2022 case.

In 2022, a mob of cow vigilantes killed 50-year-old Muslim man Nazir Ahmad while he was transporting his cattle.

On June 12, Judge Tabassum Khan found the men guilty, convicting them on charges of murder, attempt to murder, rioting, and wrongful restraint.

However, the judgement resulted in the judge receiving abuse and death threats online.

The Supreme Court of India on Monday announced its verdict setting aside the High Court’s declaration of 27 appellants as foreigners.

The court noted that the process of citizenship must adhere to the principles of fairness, law, and due process.

Justice Vikram Nath and Justice Sandeep Mehta presided over the bench and announced the verdict.

The court declared that citizenship status stands as a matter of legal and constitutional significance.

The court, however, recognised the government’s concerns related to the misuse of citizenship claims.

India backed Palestine’s bid for full membership of the United Nations.

The position was conveyed by the Ministry of External Affairs during a ministerial meeting of the Palestine Donor Group in Brussels.

India also reiterated its commitment to supporting Palestinian development through projects in healthcare, education, women’s empowerment, and institution-building.

8 INDIA, RUSSIA TO SIGN NORTHERN SEA ROUTE CARGO PACT TO BOOST ARCTIC TRADE

India and Russia are set to strengthen their economic partnership after Russia authorized state nuclear corporation Rosatom to sign a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) with India on expanding cooperation in cargo transportation via the Northern Sea Route (NSR).

The authorization was issued through a Russian government order, paving the way for closer collaboration on the development and use of the Arctic shipping corridor.
