BREAKING: (News Delhi) Indian Defense Rajnath Singh on Thursday met his Italian counterpart for a bilateral dialogue. The discussions were held to discuss the ongoing defense cooperation between New Delhi and Rome as well as the current US-Iran war along with the overall situation in Middle East.

Describing the meeting as a positive development, Defense Minister posted on social media stating that the two sides discussed a wide range of issues such as the situation in Middle East. He further added that he discussed the possibility of a defense industrial cooperation between the two sides, under India’s ambitious Atmanirbhar Bharat Programme.

The two sides also exchanged a bilateral military cooperation plan, aimed at military engagement and defense cooperation between the military forces of the two states.

During his maiden visit to India, Italian Defense Minister Guido Crosseto visited the national war memorial to pay his respects and observed a guard of honour.

The visit underlines the desire of both the countries to engage and further expand the ongoing cooperation and further explore new areas and avenues to solidify relations. This also highlights the ongoing deepening ties of India with EU as well as with the individual EU countries.
