On Wednesday while briefing the reporters, the Chairman of the parliament’s panel on external affairs, Shashi Tharoor said that there were more than a thousand Indians still in Iran who don’t’ necessarily want to leave the country.
The MEP further stated that there were students of class 10-12 who because of the war are unable to appear in their CBSE exams, questioned the government on what steps are being taken in this regard. Tharoor further stated that education and external affairs ministry are already in consultation in order to reach a plan for those 23,000 Indians students in the Gulf region.
The panel said that there were questions that still required a government response, as the foreign secretary didn’t attend the meeting.
