A private air ambulance flying from Ranchi to Delhi crashed on Monday evening near Simaria in Jharkhand’s Chatra district, killing all seven people on board in a tragic accident.

The aircraft, a Beechcraft C90 air ambulance with registration VT-AJV, was operated by Redbird Airways. It departed from Birsa Munda Airport carrying a critically ill patient who was being shifted to Delhi for urgent medical treatment.

According to officials, the flight lost contact with air traffic control around 20 to 25 minutes after takeoff. Later that evening, local residents reported signs of a crash in a forested and hilly area near Simaria. Rescue teams rushed to the site despite difficult terrain and poor visibility.

All seven occupants were found dead. The victims included two pilots, one doctor, one paramedic, the patient, and two attendants. Authorities said weather conditions in the region were unfavorable at the time, with strong winds and rain reported.

The Aircraft Accident Investigation Bureau (AAIB) has launched a proper investigation to find the exact cause of the crash. The incident has left families devastated and raised fresh concerns about the safety challenges faced by aviation industry in India.
